We often receive various kinds of reviews, and I decided to make a post answering the guests’ questions concerning the hostel.
How come Acco Hostel is so cheap/expensive?
-We manage to stay cheap because for one, we have no reception; the only staff you will see besides cleaning staff come by once in the morning and once in the evening to check up on everything. If you are one of the people who think we’re expensive, I’d like to point out that, Sweden is after all a very expensive country in general, and it doesn’t change the fact that we’re still the cheapest in Stockholm.
Why don’t you have a proper kitchen?
-We have a kitchen, but it only has a microwave and refrigerator. When we did have a proper kitchen the guests didn’t clean up after themselves, which caused problems.
Why do you have so many rules, and no common room?1
We want to have a calm and comfortable environment at the hostel, which is why we don’t have a very big common (hangout) area, and rules such as no smoking inside, or no noise after 10PM (breaking these will cause us to charge €200).
